Peru Day 7 & 8 Amazon Rainforest

Peru 🇵🇪

October 7, 2021
We did a morning kayaking trip.  Carolyn Langon and I shared a kayak.  We weaved back and forth going upstream against the current until we decided to make life easier by going downstream with the current!!!

Phil and Priscilla made it look so easy!!!!

And these locals thought we were just plain silly!!

In the Afternoon we visited a village and took gifts for the children (school supplies, fishing supplies and tee shirts).  The villagers were excited to see us come ashore and the children got the word quickly and came running from all directions through the jungle to see us.

House in the Village

The children lined up and introduce themselves and we introduce ourselves.

They sang us a few songs then we sang “if you’re happy and you know it clap your hands”

George asked them what they wanted to do when they grew up - get a lot of “I don’t know” , “doctors” , “teachers “ but one cute boy said he wanted to be a traveler!!!

The children were so sweet and well behaved

As we left they ran back through the forest to their homes excited about their gifts.  It was a beautiful moment!!!

That night we had our goodbye dinner. The staff surprised us with a great musical performance and dance.  The staff is extremely talented as is Carlos our Uni World tour guide.
